I thought I'd go ahead and try out this blog thing--to make sure this website will work--before Mom and I head out on our road trip to Mississippi next week. I can't believe that the semester is over already (I had my anthropology final yesterday) and that it is time to head out of town again! Mom and I leave in just five days--yikes--and I still need to pack and do a bunch of other stuff! After spending the summer in Mississippi, I'll be heading straight up to grad. school at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. I am nervous and sad to be leaving home, but it's exciting to have these great opportunities for education and employment.
I realized that you may be wondering about my blog address: missahippy.blogspot.com. What's with "missahippy" you may ask? It's actually quite simple--Miss-a-hippy is just a lot more fun to say than Mississippi, so that's what my family and I call the state.
Well, it seems that this whole posting on my blog thing works all right, so when I head out next week, I will start my daily entries. I will miss everyone while I am away, but hopefully the adventures I am sure to have in the South will provide some enjoyable (and probably sometimes mildly exciting and/or humorous) reading.
