Mom and Lindy threw a wonderful bridal shower for me this morning. Thank you Mom and Lind! Today's shower included family and friends and was held here at our house. Camden and Riley posed here in front of the beautiful table. We had all kinds of good eats--muffins, quiche, fruit, zucchini bread, candy, mini sandwiches, and Lindy's famous punch. Yummy! Later this morning I asked Riley if this was a fun shower and she said, "It's a delicious shower!"
My cute and fun Nauvoo roommates, Emily, Barbara, and Nicole came today too! It was great to see them.
As you can see from the photo above compared to this photo, Emily is still the tallest :-) That was five--almost six--years ago that we spent the semester in Nauvoo together! One of the highlights of our roommate experiences was when I went to our room one evening, and my bed was gone. I turned around to see it sitting in the closet, and then I was blinded by a camera flash. They were all sitting on my bed in the closet and had snapped a picture, capturing the look of stunned surprise on my face. They're such funny girls, and we had many good times together.
Here I am with the fun Henrichsen girls. Kallie and I have been best friends ever since we were little babies. The Henrichsens live in our old ward, and Kallie and I used to do everything together. Kallie has been married for a couple of years now, and her cute baby just turned one! It's crazy that we are growing up. We were saying today that it's funny that when we used to have sleepovers we would talk about what it would be like when we got married and how we would live next door to each other :-) Maybe someday.
Here I am with cute Karen Hepworth who teaches at the Orem Institute of Religion. She and I became good buddies when I worked as a secretary there a few years ago. Because the sister Institute teachers are few in number, all of the girls have to stick together there :-)
And here is my other cute Institute teacher buddy--Colleen Terry. She is seriously one of the nicest, kindest, and most amazing people I have ever met. As you can see, she was decked out and ready to head to the totally awesome football game this afternoon!
And here I am with Aunt Relva and Aunt Wendy! It was nice of so many of my aunts to come today--from both the Taylor and Farnsworth sides. I have great aunts.
Here is an aerial view of the table. Lindy's wonderful mother-in-law, Tyra Barrett (in the pink shirt) came today too! She is such a nice person.
And here I am with Mom, Aunt Karalie, and Aunt Wendy. Aunt Karalie's hair is awesome! She had chemotherapy a few months ago, and her hair has grown back in curly! It's so cool. She and I can now be twins with our short, curly hair. And here is what happens when Camden and Riley get ahold of the camera:
:-)
We had a good time opening presents. Here I am opening the cute dishtowels that Aunt Wendy picked out for me. Thank you for all of the nice, generous, and thoughtful gifts, everyone! We even got a clock made out of cypress wood from the Ozarks!
And here is Lindy--the co-shower host--with Miss Sid in her pink BYU shirt. Sidney always loves a good party (but doesn't always love having her picture taken at said parties). It was a great day today, and thank you all for coming! BYU doesn't have a game next weekend, but we'd better hurry and plan another shower for the weekend after that. We need to keep these shutouts going :-)
