Today we woke up to a blanket of SNOW on the ground!!!!! A few snow flakes fell yesterday, but nothing stuck to the ground until last night. It felt quite winter-ish when we bundled up to go to church this morning. I'm glad that I got to see Utah Valley snow one more time before I leave! It's not like I'm going someplace where it doesn't snow--they get plenty of that in Illinois--but Utah snow is my favorite. It's much more fluffy and pretty than the slushy stuff they get everywhere else. The snow-covered mountains look beautiful today! I am glad, however, that it is going to warm up this week. It's supposed to be 70 degrees and sunny next weekend for the wedding, which would be perfect. Snow is usually nice, but not so much for an October wedding.Today was my last Sunday in the Orem Park 8th Ward :-( It was sad to say goodbye to everyone, but I am excited for this next phase of life I'll be starting on Saturday. Robyn Shelton is the new primary teacher who will be taking over my class. When she came to class a couple of weeks ago, she was a little overwhelmed by how naughty the kids were, so I told her that I would sit in class with her today while she taught the lesson. But, of course, today the kids were perfect :-) Funny how that works. Robyn is a waaaaaaaay better teacher than I am, so the kids are lucky to have her. They at least pretended to be sad that I'm leaving. :-) Nauvoo said, "Teacher, are you ever coming back?" I told them that I'll for sure be back to visit.
Well, we're now under a week until the wedding! I can't believe how quickly it has come. Greg will by flying out here on Tuesday, then we'll need to take care of a few things like getting a marriage license, visiting family, and packing the car. BYU plays TCU on Thursday night--hopefully they can keep up their perfect record! It's silly that they are ranked below teams who have lost a game, but unfortunately that's how it goes with the BCS. Go BYU football!!!!
