Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is Grandma Farnsworth-Thompson's (aka Grandma F.T.'s) birthday! I wish we could be there to celebrate with her in St. George, but we're glad that Uncle Kevin and Aunt Wendy enjoyed the day with her. I really like this picture of Grandma at age 9. Isn't she cute?! Some of my happiest memories are from times visiting Grandma either in Provo or St. George. I'm looking forward to the next time I can visit!

In other news, on Wednesday I got to go to Metamora Courthouse State Historic Site to do an artifact inventory with Linda. We had so much fun! The courthouse is a very historic building. Abraham Lincoln used to visit Metamora as a lawyer, so we even got to see some Lincoln artifacts. Speaking of Abraham Lincoln, I'm afraid that the Lincoln Home will be closed indefinitely as of tomorrow because of the looming government shutdown. The rangers got everything ready to close down today. That is sad. Hopefully the government can get it together soon.

Yesterday I had a CAT scan at the hospital to see if they could find any reason for these splitting headaches I've been having for over a year (they began during the Jason Boyd Regime at the Lincoln Home). I was scared to have the scan because they were asking me all of these questions like, "Are you claustrophobic?" and "Do you have any metal in your body?" and "Can you hold still for a significant length of time?" But the person asking me these questions must not have known what kind of scan I was going to have because it ended up taking about two minutes, and I wasn't really even in a tube--I was just under this big arch that took pictures of my head. It was no big deal. We're still waiting to hear from the doctor, but I don't think there is anything wrong. I think it just takes a really long time for the mental and physical effects of working under Jason Boyd to wear off!
