Back to the Burg

Today I got to leave a quasi-tornado behind in Natchez and escape up to sunny Vicksburg. Just as we were closing up Melrose this evening, some clouds that were literally black rolled in, and there was some wacky lightning going on. The clouds were moving really fast, and it started to get really windy and rainy. But, I got to head out on Highway 61 and head north, leaving the storm behind me. I could see it in my rear view mirror and was happy to not have to deal with it. It's been nice and sunny up here in the Burg, and the kitties and I had a fun evening watering the garden, watching TV, and drinking chocolate milk. I think that my Benadryl from last night was still wearing off this morning because I was a little dingy at work--or maybe that's just how I always am!

Yesterday I got to work at the Johnson house with Donna (our newest employee). She's the nicest lady ever, and it will be fun to have her here. We had a great time just chatting and getting to know each other better. I was a little loopy from the Benadryl yesterday (which helped my fire ant bites, by the way), and I forgot to write about my fun dinner with the Wesselmans at La Fiesta. They left town for Florida today, and won't be back until after I leave, so we had one last hurrah and went out to eat together. They are such a wonderful family, and I am very, very, very grateful to have them as friends! Well, I'm off to bed now and will try to get a good sleep before driving back to Natchez for work in the morning.
