Today was a pretty typical day of a grad. student--ate breakfast on my way out the door, went to class, drank water to stay awake :-), worked, ate lunch, read, worked, fell asleep for a second, worked. Tonight we are having our weekly meeting with all of us students. Last week it didn't go too long, and hopefully tonight will be the same. The meeting is over at Matt's house, however, and he loves to talk, so we could be there for a while! Well, I'm off to work some more. I'll fit dinner in here somewhere.
It was kind of funny today in my Historic Preservation class--we talked about historic landscapes. Dr. Small said that this part of Illinois shares many similarities with the South, as far as how towns are organized, etc. I responded that my friends in Mississippi would gasp in horror if they heard Mississippi compared to Illinois--this is Yankee land! And, there's too much corn here for it to share too many similarities with the South. :-)
