ZION

Whew! I finally finished the materials for my first Zion book deadline--which was actually last week, but my nice editor Hannah told me that it was okay if I didn't get it to her until this weekend. It was a lot more work and took me much longer than had expected, but I am finished. I sent her a DVD with 20 sample images, along with the text for the corresponding photo captions, my acknowledgments, and the chapter introduction for one of the chapters. This photo here is one of my favorites in the book. Isn't it cute?? This is a photo that William Louis Crawford took of his kids J. L., Lloyd, and Elva in the family's garden in Springdale. This book is going to be a lot of work to finish, but thankfully I'll have some time after school ends to work on it before it's due. And, as I found last night, it provides me with a splendid excuse to not go out with my compadres in the evening when they want to get drunk :-) Speaking of which, Aly didn't get home until about 1:30 in the morning, and she was down for the count with a migraine this morning when I left for church. She didn't come out of her room until about noon today. All I have done today is go to church, catch up on some rest for a few minutes, and work on the book. Now I'm off to finish some architecture and 19th-century history homework. Aly and I are totally hooked on the John Adams series on HBO, so we'll need to watch that tonight while we work on our homework. I think tonight is part 4 of 7. It's so suspenseful, and it makes you wonder if America is really going to gain independence from Great Britain! If I didn't already know how the Revolutionary War turns out, I wouldn't have been able to concentrate all week since part 3 last Sunday :-)

good job Tiff! I'm glad to have another good reason not to go off and get drunk :) Besides the WoW and migrains and foolishness and kidney failure...etc.
