I have a joke for you: Why did the skunk cross the road?Give up?
Answer: So that it could get hit by a car and make a whole bunch of people's cars stink like all get out.
Yes, there is a story behind this joke. Today on my way to work I passed at least five squashed skunks. Though I carefully avoided driving over them, their bitter effluvia still filled my car. I had to pretty much leave the windows down the whole time because of the foul stench. Skunks are kind of cute, so it's too bad that they can stink so much. But I tell you what, as far as defense mechanisms go, the smelly thing is quite effective. Except when cars are involved. Even the threat of smelliness can't stop an unsuspecting driver from flattening a skunk. I guess that the smell factor does, however, protect the flattened carcass from being run-over multiple times. Because other drivers (like me) avoid said carcasses at all cost.
Anyway, today I am holding down the fort at the museum while Mark and James are out cleaning the garage. We have these old wagons that are pretty much falling apart, so they decided that they need to try to save what they can of the wagons by moving them inside the garage.
This morning Mark gave me the assignment of taking the "Color Code" personality test. I have taken it before, but hadn't ever really paid much attention to the results. I am an overwhelmingly BLUE person. As I read about blue people, it was kind of scary--it was totally describing me! I was very excited to learn that history's most famous blue person is none other than my favorite: Abraham Lincoln!!! Here's what I learned about myself from the color code test:
Personality characteristics--
- Loyal
- Perfectionist
- Emotional

- Empathetic
As a friend I am--
- Loyal forever

As a parent I will--
- Encourage academic development in children

- Be easily irritated by mistakes
- Be overprotective
- Frustrate children with unrealistic expectations
As a career person I--

- Overextend myself
Here are some tips for dealing with blue people like me:
- Be sensitive to my feelings
- Make me feel appreciated
- Be trustworthy
- Don't make me feel guilty
- Don't expect me to forgive quickly
- Allow me to have plenty of time to make decisions
- Don't expect me to readily adjust to change
- Promote my creativity
So, that's pretty much me in a nut-shell according to Dr. Taylor Hartman's "Color Code." To put my overwhelming blue-ness into perspective, I answered blue on 29 questions; white (passive) on 8 questions; red (agressive) on 5 questions; and yellow (spontaneous) on 3 questions. Very interesting. Well, now that you and I both have a better idea about what makes me tick, I'd best get back to work.

wow--that is totally you. every detail. crazy. I've always been multi-colored, because I'm schizo. Was the test online?
To my blue friend, I think I'm the one who is blue because I haven't seen you for a while. Actually, just a minute ago, Soren told me he misses you. I wasn't even looking at your blog when he said it. It was cute and he asked if you can come over. Can you?
