Surely you've heard of St. Elmo's Fire, but have you heard of St. Patrick's Fire? St. Patrick's Fire is the fire you start in your front yard on St. Patrick's Day. Greg found out this morning that he had the day off, and the weather was beautiful outside. I had an extreme case of cabin fever and was very grouchy, so we decided that some time out in the yard might be good for us and the yard. We got our yard all ready for spring . . . by lighting it on fire. There are no fire ordinances in Athens, so you can start fires wherever you want. Our yard had a lot of branches, leaves and other stuff left over from the long winter we had. So we lit it all on fire, and now (another day) we can get some new things planted and make it look very nice. We were both pooped by the time we were done--my recovering muscled didn't know quite what had hit them. So I took a Vicodin and a nap--and now I'm good to go. Greg made some delicious corned beef and cabbage, so we are having a Happy St. Patrick's Day here and hope that you all have had a happy day too!
