150 years ago TODAY marks the fall of Fort Sumter and the beginning of the Civil War. At 1:00 p.m. on April 13, 1861, Confederate artillery took out the flagpole inside the Union fort--and the soldiers inside knew that surrender was inevitable. Interestingly enough, TOMORROW marks the 146th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination, and Friday is the 146th anniversary of his death. In recognition of this important date, the new movie "The Conspirator" comes out on Friday. I am excited to see it! (I'll have to go with one of my friends who is equally as Lincoln-geeky as me, since Greg refuses to see a movie directed by Robert Redford.) Supposedly the movie will hint that Mary Surratt was not guilty, which I don't agree with, but it will still be an interesting movie to see. You can click here to see the preview for the movie. This is a historic week!

Nick reminded me of this anniversary today. I'm also excited to see the movie this weekend. What does Greg have against Robert Redford?
So many exciting events this week history-wise! My friend lives in Charleston and she woke up to the sound of cannons the other morning. Wish we were all there! I hope you enjoy the movie. Maybe we can go together when we're in UT???
Greg thinks Robert Redford is a "tree-hugging hippie" :-) I think he's still mad about the "environmental impact tax" we had to pay when we stayed at the Sundance Resort. I don't share his feelings though--I'm really excited to see the movie!
The movie looks really good. Maybe you won't mind seeing it again when you come to Utah in a couple of weeks!
