Thinkin' with Lincoln

When Greg asked me what I wanted to do in celebration of passing my oral exams, I said, "Go to the Lincoln Museum!" So today we had a fun field trip to Springfield. I made quite a splash at the museum with my "Would I lie to you?" t-shirt featuring Abraham Lincoln. Everyone wanted one. Even the lady in the gift shop wondered where I had gotten it, so I told her that I ordered it online. It's my new favorite shirt. In our family portrait with the Lincolns, I was accidentally standing in front of Robert, but that's okay because he wasn't very nice to his mom. Greg had never been to the museum before, and he loved it. We especially enjoyed my favorite presentation: "Ghosts at the Museum." The gift shop at the museum is amazing, but we were a little disappointed to see that there is now an Obama section of the gift shop where they sell magnets and these little "Yes We Can!" candy bars. Oh well, at least 97% of the merchandise is still Lincoln-related. But they didn't have anything as cool as my t-shirt :-)

After the museum, Greg took me to Red Lobster for our celebration lunch. Yummmmmy! I love their cheese biscuits. Just as we were finishing our food, the police called Greg and told him they had someone for him to pick up in Springfield--uh oh. It's never good when you have to call the police, but it's especially disturbing when they call YOU! Luckily Greg had to go back to Athens first to change his clothes and pick up the "Van of Death," so I didn't have to ride with the body this time. The kids from our ward had scheduled a field trip to the funeral home for this afternoon, but Greg had to cancel. I'm sure they'll come another time. It's only 30 degrees outside today, but it feels nice and warm compared to what it's been!
